Lesson 5-1W: Write Paragraphs that Explain with Elaboration

$50.00Price

Is your child confused and discouraged by teachers' writing feedback?

"Give me MORE..."

"Provide more details..."

"You need to elaborate..."

In this video lesson, Heather explains in plain language how to write paragraphs with plenty of elaborative details, so your child can write with confidence. This video lesson with downloadable guided notes includes instruction about

  • four specific types of elaboration that teachers are looking for;

  • how to brainstorm elaborative details;

  • how to turn those elaborative details into a full paragraph; and

  • writing different types of informational paragraphs, including descriptive, explanatory (sequential/chronological), and opinion.

Tutor Heather provides instruction in the form of the following components in this five-part lesson:

  • guided notes on elaboration and informational writing structures;

  • several examples of brainstorming and paragraphs on a variety of different topics;

  • demonstrations of how to take brainstormed ideas and compose them into paragraphs;

  • guided practice, and

  • independent practice.

This no-prep lesson is print, click, and go! You will receive the pdf document of the downloadable guided notes packet after purchase to print. The website address and links to the video are located on the cover page (parent page) and page 1 of the student packet.
